History: Val never knew her parents; only the name she was left in their stead. She was raised in an orphanage in the outskirts of Berlin for nearly her entire life. Val had few friends in the orphanage and had always been a tough little girl to handle and yet her caretakers found her endearing. She had spirit, will, and the drive to make something of herself. And she did the moment everyone at the orphanage pitched in to acquire a tarot deck for her as a birthday gift. The art of tarot fascinated her and she studied it vigorously. Val began to give readings for fun finding great pleasure in pretending to be a kind of psychic. That is until her predictions started proving to be true. Her sudden "gift" frightened yet excited her. And she started doing readings for more people - tourists and natives alike. With the bit of money she was making, she gave most of her earnings to the orphanage that raised her, as well as putting together a little nest egg for herself. This was how she took care of herself as well as her family at the orphanage.
As she grew older, she started hearing voices - voices that she could actually communicate with. It wasn't until much later that she realized it to be the voices of her tarot cards. They guided her and spoke to her of her gift and in the ensuing years she practiced, she discovered another gift of being able to conjure spectral creatures and beings - only as a shadowy form and for a very short duration of time. She continued practicing as often as she could.
Until she was met one day by an unknown man who saw her gift and explained to her the nature of her status and power as a Magus. He also introduced himself as the Duce of Germany and his role along with the other Duces of Europe. He offered her the chance to properly train her power and live a more comfortable life. She was hesitant but took up the offer to defend and protect the Duce whenever necessary, ONLY as a means to be able to devote more of her time trying to support the orphanage she grew up in.
After the war with the Hemmero, Valda had grown to become a little less serious and more accepting of her fellow magus. She had even established good relations with some from other divisions and has made a promise to herself to start being less detached. She paid silent respects to the magus/Duce that passed away and has since moved on with a less bleak outlook on life. She hopes to perhaps get to know her division members a little better from here on out. In the meantime, she adopted a little piglet in hopes of becoming more accustomed to interacting with a living creature.
Still works as a fortune teller, despite being under the guardianship of her Duce. She isn't as devoted to her Duce as her fellow magus...yet.
Her birthday is April 15 and her sign is Aries. She has chocolate brown-auburn hair, and powder/ice blue eyes.
Her power symbol is the waning crescent moon.
Although her primary weapon is her tarot deck, her weapon of choice would have to be her prized rapier, Astraea. In that sense she has a way of defending herself without relying on her summons. Although her rapier has no special abilities, she shows great skill in using it.
Her hair is actually down to her waist. She wears most of her hair up and its hidden under the brim of her hat.
Because of her history, she has a soft spot for children. She still checks up on the orphanage she grew up in.
She has always had an interest in Mythology and Art.
People who delve into tarot, can sometimes see ghosts/spirits and even speak with them on some level. Because Valda is a magus, she can do so at a much more heightened level.
Because of her success at reading tarot cards, her clients respectfully refer to her as Dame des Schicksals (German for Lady of Fate).
Has recently adopted a little miniature piglet named Clove (for her love of eating clovers).
Personality: Val is mild and mature in most cases but can be a blunt and sharp-tongued girl as well. Not much can break her spirit and pride either. She is of a neutral good alignment - a quiet, serious, and patient woman with a great resolve and purpose. She can even be ruthless and aggressive at times, never letting her guard down. She is by extension, a distrustful person. She has a tendency to be cold, sarcastic, and cynical, so it’s safe to say a number of people may not like her. She does have her caring side but that rarely ever shows (normally when she starts being harsh with someone, that's when she shows she cares, because she is only looking out for their well-being) except for the children at the orphanage. She is in fact a lonely girl, who merely wishes to be accepted/acknowledged. Val can’t help but be bitter with her life and unknowingly pushes everyone away, even the few friends she has. Because she's a respected 'reader of fate,' people tend to look past her pessimistic demeanor and seek her for her insight.
She tends to carry herself with an air of elegance, grace, and style, engaging in any recreational activities that stimulate her mind and body. Her one favorite activity is fencing. Valda is extremely skilled in fencing and takes great pride in it. She is no stranger to hard work and aims to keep it that way because she won't ever allow the world to spoil her. She has great business sense and isn't afraid to pay whatever she has to, to get what she wants, knowing greed will drive people to drastic measures. In that sense, she isn't above manipulating people to get her way. Because of her cautious nature, it will take some time for her to trust the Duce she is sworn to protect and the other Magus under his House as well as other fellow magus and Duces.

18 The Moon || A woman with silver hair garbed in a white dress riding on a horse made of constellations along a moonbeam appears to transport a max of two allies to a safe location (depletes 75% of her magic reserve). She may also call form a blizzard to repel enemy attacks.
19 The Sun || Sol appears and may heal smaller wounds as well as to reveal hidden passages or highlight important details.
20 Judgement || A phoenix that can inflict multiple small wounds via fire and can easily be defeated but will ALWAYS regenerate until recalled.
21 The World || Her most powerful card. A power used in two ways - stopping time in a given area (withing a sphere that expands, freezing everything it touches) or becoming impervious to all things harmful to the Summoner or an ally (in the form of an invisible sphere). Both have 5 minute durations and depletes the Summoner's magical reserve (99%. Enough for her to live). Used as a last resort.
